CalcioMercato believe the player is ready to quit his current club with Inter Milan and Sampdoria also keen on his services.

With the Gunners thought to have a small budget this summer until they sell some of their players, a the move could represent some excellent business.

Kannemann is strong defender happy both on the front foot and facing his own goal, and would give manager Unai Emery, seen watching Atletico Madrid against Levante on Saturday, plenty of depth.

Arsenal need defensive reinforcements with Shkodran Mustafi struggling this season and the club conceding 52 goals compared to the 39 which both Chelsea and Tottenham let in.

They may also be buoyed by the news Milan Skriniar has signed a new contract at Inter which could allow them to sneak in ahead of their transfer rivals.
