Everton fan Tony Bellew has revealed his misery at Liverpool’s success this season and has told talkSPORT: ‘The sooner Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk leave, the better!’
The former cruiserweight world boxing champion joined the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Monday to share his reaction to Liverpool losing out on the Premier League title.
Naturally, the devoted Toffee was delighted, but that was not until he was left sweating after a thrilling final day of top flight action.
Liverpool went top of the ‘as it stands’ table during Sunday’s finale when Brighton scored a surprise goal to go 1-0 up against City, with the Reds already leading against Wolves.
Fortunately for Bellew, though, that lead lasted just minutes, as City came back to win 4-1 at the Amex Stadium and beat Liverpool to the crown.
Speaking to talkSPORT the former boxing star said: “I was watching the game yesterday and when City conceded I swear on my life I just said it was written in the stars. I just put my iPad on and started playing games, I was that nervous.”

Of course, there is a chance Liverpool can still lift a trophy this season with a Champions League final against Tottenham on the horizon.
Bellew said he would be devastated if he saw his red rivals crowned European champions again, and can’t wait until Klopp and PFA Player of the Year Van Dijk to leave Anfield.
“I can’t knock Liverpool, at the end of the day they’re a fantastic team,” he added, probably through gritted teeth.
“Would I congratulate them if the won it? Absolutely not, no! It would be great for the city, yeah, but would I be happy? Absolutely not, no!
“Every time I hope Liverpool lose something, they end up winning. So I hope they win the Champions League. I hope they tank Spurs about 5-0…
“Jurgen Klopp does absolutely fantastic in finals, as we’ve seen, so I’m just hoping he has another great night in a final.
“He’s one of the best managers in the world and they’ve got THE best defender in all the world, so it really should be a walk in the park for them.
“The sooner Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk leave our city the better, for me.”
Meanwhile, Bellew asked Sports Breakfast co-host Ally McCoist what he was smoking after the Rangers legend asked a bizarre question about Everton supporters.
“Tony, I have to ask you, would there have been many Everton fans wanting Liverpool to win the league yesterday?”
To which Bellew replied: “Mate, I don’t know if you’re intoxicated or you’re drugged at the minute, but which ever one you’re on please stop taking them because they’re not good mate, they’re not good for your mind!”
Ally aded: “I’ll take that as a ‘no’ then!”
