Fikayo Tomori has beaten Mason Mount to claim Derby’s Supporters’ Player of the Season award.
The Rams youngsters, who are both on loan from Chelsea, have impressed in the Championship under Frank Lampard this season.
Tomori has been an ever-present at the heart of defence throughout the campaign, starting 45 matches and playing more than any other of all the Chelsea loanees littered around Europe.
And Lampard has been full of praise for the defender.
He told Rams TV: “His progression this year has been incredible. From when he came in, he was a good young player anyway, but you can see how pivotal he has been in our team.
“He has grown from within and I’ve enjoyed working with him day to day. He wants to learn and improve his game but all the attributes he has, he is using them.”
Mount has also enjoyed a brilliant season and that continued this weekend as he netted his first senior hat-trick against Bolton.
The 20-year-old has eight goals and three assists in 20 league matches this season.
Chelsea are currently appealing a two-window transfer ban, but should this sanction remain in place, Mount and Tomori may potentially be playing in a blue shirt soon.
