Harry Kane: Tottenham Hotspur striker’s England career in numbers four years on from his debut

Harry Kane made his England debut exactly four years ago and he has not looked back since.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker replaced Wayne Rooney against Lithuania on March 27, 2015 and enjoyed the perfect start.

Just 79 seconds after coming on, the then 21-year-old headed in as England thrashed their opponents 4-0.

â€Å“I’m just proud. A dream come true,” he said after the match. â€Å“It’s a special night and definitely one I won’t forget. It’s what you dream of as a kid, it’s a bit of a daze and I’m enjoying every minute of it.”

Kane may have been a few years older than some of the youngsters who are breaking into the senior squad at the age of 18.

But he̢۪s certainly made up for any lost time.

The 25-year-old has gone on to score 22 times in 37 appearances and captain his country to a World Cup semi-final. Not only that, he won the Golden Boot after scoring six times in Russia.

He seems to enjoy playing under Gareth Southgate too, he has 17 goals in 20 games he̢۪s played under the current England boss.

Kane managed just five under Roy Hodgson in 16 games and also did not score in Sam Allardyce̢۪s sole game in charge.

The nation will be hoping he can carry on producing that goal record throughout his career for England to possibly end the wait for silverware.

The Spurs man is currently joint 16th on England̢۪s all-time goalscoring list and is 31 behind Wayne Rooney, who has 53.

In his sights will be Geoff Hurst (24), Frank Lampard (29) and Alan Shearer (30).

The striker added two goals in England̢۪s opening two Euro 2020 qualifiers and will hopefully add more when they travel to the Nations League finals in June.
